Eurojust’s 2021 meeting on counter-terrorism tackled topics ranging from addressing the dissemination of terrorist content online, left-wing and right-wing extremism and terrorism, the threat posed by prison leavers, and the use of battlefield evidence. The meeting brought together Eurojust national correspondents for terrorism matters and judicial practitioners from EU Member States and partner non-EU countries, as well as representatives of EU and international organisations.
Meeting participants confirmed that information exchange in terrorism cases as part of the Eurojust Counterterrorism Register and the digitalisation of judicial cooperation remains a priority. This has recently been reinforced by several initiatives to digitalise EU justice systems, adopted by the European Commission 1 December 2021.
