Common challenges in cybercrime

Intellectual Property Crime Case-Law of National Courts 2025
This fourth edition of the case-law of national courts on intellectual property (IP) provides new summaries of national courts’ judgments in the area of intellectual property crime (IPC), touching on some of the most prevalent legal issues in this crime area. The cases selected deal with a range of issues, including illegal IPTV, counterfeiting of everyday goods, the issue of non-material damages and calculation of damages.

The calculation of damages in criminal intellectual property (IP) cases presents a complex and multilayered challenge across various jurisdictions. One of the most important objectives is to ensure that rights holders, who have a status of victims or injured parties in the criminal case, receive fair compensation for the damages incurred due to criminal acts such as counterfeiting, piracy and other forms of IP crimes.
SIRIUS EU Electronic Evidence Situation Report 2024
The 2024 edition of the SIRIUS European Union Electronic Evidence Situation Report, published jointly by Eurojust, Europol and the European Judicial Network, reflects on the evolving legislative framework and the growing reliance on electronic data in criminal investigations.
